Peoria Plantation Store Closing
by Gloria Cassel-Fitzgerald
Understanding the present economic situation in the United States and feeling the $ crunch as others; I give respect to this closing. But as Black Americans time has changed also and stores with names such as this brings sad historical memories.
The Plantation’s Stores’ name brings with it TEARS, HURTS, & PAINFUL THOUGHTS. Sometimes it takes the advertising of a store such as this to stir up the Bad remembers and events of the African-American Slave past. Peorians try to remember the GOOD Racial events such as Women Against Racism (multi-racial group that fought years in Peoria to eliminate racism) and the NAACP (National Assoc. of People of Color). Also, remember the FAMOUS WILLIE LETTER which keeps in our MINDS the wrongful Lectures Slave-Mind Control given to Plantation Owners.
Finally, we have come ahead of hurt!!!!!!!! Did we not elect Obama together?
Thanks you for Listening/reading to my opinion.
