July 3 – 31 – Peoria Riverfront Market – Saturdays from 8:00 a.m.- noon  at the Peoria Riverfront. FREE admission. Best selection of fresh produce, local meats, eggs, berries, breads and cheeses in Central Illinois! Everything locally grown! One-of-a-kind selection of art. Located across from the Illinois Antique Center in Liberty Park. Plenty of free parking available.

July 4 – The largest 4th of July celebration in downstate Illinois just got bigger. “Methodist Red, White and Boom!” will be expanding to three days of festivities including two national act concerts. The cities of Peoria and East Peoria will come together with JMP Radio Group, the Peoria Park District and the Peoria Area Convention and Visitor’s Bureau for Methodist Red White and Boom, the spectacular display of pyrotechnics in the skies over the riverfront and choreographed to music on the JMP Radio Group stations. Both sides of the riverfront will host family-friendly activities including live concerts on the 4th, and this year, East Peoria will open a Beer Garden during the festivities. Fireworks show @ 9:30 p.m.

July 8 – 11 – The Peoria Park District’s Community Children’s Theatre is proud to present their summer production of Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” The musical will be performed at the Peoria Players Theatre. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and children under 12 (group rates also available). Tickets can be purchased at www.artspartners.net and the Glen Oak Park Pavilion.

July 9 – 12 – The “Pinta” and the “Nina,” replicas of Columbus’ ships will be docked at the Riverplex Landing adjacent to the Spirit of Peoria until their departure on the morning of July 12th. While in port, the general public is invited to visit the ships for walk-aboard self-guided tours. Prices are $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors & $5.00 for children. July 11 – 30th Annual Ice Cream Social hosted by the Sam J. Stone B’nai B’rith Covenant Apartments Resident’s Assoc. from 2:00 – 3:30 p.m. Tickets are a donation of $1.00. Musical entertainment & door prizes! Proceeds go to resident activities.

July 16 – 18 – Par-A-Dice Hotel and Casino presents “Balloons at the Park” at Three Sisters Park in Chillicothe, IL.

July 17 – A day of workshops with the Ardens, of a Cross Between Ministries, (known to many from the Equip Conference) is scheduled from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Morton Community Church on Main Street. Cost for the day of workshops is $35 and is due by July 1st. For more info call 222-2472.

July 18 – The Central Illinois Jazz Society presents CIJS House Band at 6:00 p.m., that features Guest Group Glenn Wilson and The Jazzmaniacs at 7:15 p.m. at the Starting Gate Banquet Room, located in Landmark Recreation Center, 3225 N. Dries Lane. (Parking available in Landmark lot and across Dries Lane)

July 30 – 31 – 2010 Midwest Cigar Summit – Jimmy’s Bar- West Peoria, IL . Multiple cigar vendors, Beer and spirit samplings, Raffle prizes, cigar seminars, and cigar legislation update/discussion. The event is free to the public, and you are welcome to bring your own cigars for smoking and trading.

July 31 – 4th Annual Kids’ Day – 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie. Raffle Prizes: Wii, Kid’s Bike from Russell’s, iPod Touch, Chief’s Game – 20 tickets – your game choice. Tickets available at Kids’s Day – $5.00 each or 6 for $25.00
