Peoria/China Business Connection

The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce is coordinating a business and tourism trip to China. Businesses must think globally to stay competitive in today’s marketplace. Advancements in technology have made it so anyone can conduct global business from anywhere at any time, so having an understanding of international business can be an asset to our local economy. As citizens in a global society it is equally important that individuals experience and learn about other cultures and that can happen through tourism visits as well as business.

During this trip, participants will have the opportunity to participate in business briefings and learn more about doing business in China including meeting with Caterpillar representatives regarding international operations. They will also have an opportunity to see the sights of China both modern and ancient with visits to Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou, and Hangzhou. This is indeed the trip of a lifetime October 4 – 15, 2010. The price is $1,899 per person for Chamber members and $1,999 for non-members and space is limited. The deadline is August 1st.

An informational meeting regarding the Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce’s trip to China will be held July 13, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. the Peoria NEXT Innovation Center at 801 W Main Street Peoria.
