Cell Phones: Newest Library Tool

The Peoria Public Library RSACat online catalog now enables customers to text call numbers of catalog items to their phones. If you’re looking at an item you want, but are not inside the library at the time, you can text yourself the item info and use it to find the item later. Pop ups need to be enabled. You can view the catalog if your phone has a web browser to text the info to yourself.

Not only has the library made remembering catalog item info easier, patrons with a Smartphone can download the AccessMyLibrary application to access the full-text database Gale Infotrac. All you need to do is download the application to your Smartphone and then enter your Peoria Public Library card number for their password.

The Overdrive Media Console is downloadable from the Peoria Public Library website and as an app for various mobile devices. The Alliance Digital Media Library on the Peoria Public Library website athttp://www.peoriapubliclibrary.org allows users to download, organize, and listen to audiobooks, music, and video borrowed from digital library.
