The Bradley Renaissance Campaign Continues

You may have noticed a lot of construction going on at Bradley University lately. Why have we seen so much activity? Well Bradley is actively continuing their Campaign for Bradley Renaissance. The campaign has seven key initiatives, some of which have been completed in recent years.

Completed aspects of the campaign include the Markin Family Student Recreation Center, and the new basketball arena recently renamed the Renaissance Coliseum.

The Markin center is a great place for students and faculty to work out or play basketball, racquetball, badminton and several other sports. There is also a swimming pool where students can swim recreationally.

The Renaissance Coliseum was completed this summer and is holding its first season for both women’s basketball and volleyball. Along with the sporting events, the Coliseum has held big name acts like Weezer and Jay Leno.

Some components of the campaign are currently being worked on. The education and health science building, Westlake Hall, is currently under construction. The new alumni center is under construction as well.

According to the Bradley’s website, the renovated building will be 85, 000 square feet. The technologically advanced classrooms will help students become more technologically savvy in their studies.

Another component that is also under construction is the Hayden-Clark Alumni Center. The center will be attached to the back of Bradley Hall. There will be a Hall of Pride, along with a large conference room that opens out to a balcony. The floor plans can be seen on Bradley’s website.

A future component that the university is currently planning is the Engineering and Business Convergence Center. This center will combine both Jobst and Baker Halls. The center will include a new, 200-seat auditorium, technologically sophisticated classrooms, and public areas for students and faculty to enjoy.

Bradley has been very progressive with their new program, and looks to improve on an already outstanding school. For more information about the Campaign for Bradley Renaissance, you can visit the website atwww.campaign.bradley.edu.
