Peoria City/County Health Department Sponsoring Osteoporosis Screening

The Peoria City/County Health Department (PCCHD) will be sponsoring an Osteoporosis Heel Screening on Friday, March 18, 2011, from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at 2116 North Sheridan Road. This FREE screening is for any woman over the age of 50 or with any of the following risk factors: *Family History of Osteoporosis *Caucasian or Asian *Under 130 pounds *Low calcium intake *Inactive lifestyle *Tobacco or Alcohol consumption, or *Certain medications such as steroids for long periods of time. Space is limited for this event.

Call the health department at (309) 679-6131 to sign up today. Women will have to take off one sock and shoe in order to perform the screening. Women are asked not to wear pantyhose to the event due to time constraints. The screening will take about 10-15 minutes to complete and everyone will receive results the day of the event.
