Macaroni Kid celebrates one year in Peoria

Macaroni Kid, a free weekly e-newsletter and website that highlights events and activities for families in the community, is celebrating one year in Peoria. Under the stewardship of Melissa Hucal of West Peoria, Macaroni Kid has become a go-to source for all things family.

“The mission behind Macaroni Kid remains the same now as it was when I started publishing a year ago, “ explains Hucal. “To bring families closer together by sharing with them all of the great events and activities designed just for them right here in the Peoria area.”

“I’ve been both amazed and impressed with the multitude of things for families in the River City – many of them low cost or even free,” said Hucal. “We live in a great community for families and I want this to be a way to keep parents excited about raising their kids here.”

Macaroni Kid covers the spectrum of things to do with kids – classes, shows, events as well as things to do at home, cooking projects, book reviews, arts and crafts and more. In addition, the newsletter provides articles and resources to make the job of parenting a little easier and even more fun. Parents, grandparents, childcare providers and anyone interested in family-friendly activities in Peoria and surrounding communities can subscribe to the free, weekly e-newsletter by visiting www.peoria.macaronikid.com.
