West Peoria News for November 2014

westpeorianewsPackets are still available for anyone interested in running for office in the City of West Peoria. The packets can be picked up 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays at City Hall. Early voting for the Nov. 4 election is from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 27 and Oct. 31 at West Peoria City Hall.
Some hints for a more enjoyable autumn in our community: Do not rake or blow leaves or grass clippings into your street because that causes storm sewers to back up. Landscape Waste Pick Up is included with your Waste Management service until the last Friday in December. Collections are every Friday until then. All residents are required to sign-up for garbage service: 1-800-796-9696; you will be charged for this service.
Residents are responsible for keeping their alleyways free of weeds, debris, etc. No open burning of landscape waste is permitted. Small recreational fires are permitted in approved burn pits. To report a violation, call Peoria County Sheriff at 672-6011.
