Some up-to-date information about methods to improve your quality of life this winter in West Peoria: If you have any questions, call city hall 674-1993 or visit the city website, www.cityofwestpeoria.net. All residents are required to sign up for garbage service with Waste Management, 1-800-796-9696. You will be charged for this service. Landscape waste pickup ends on the last Friday in December and will begin again on the first Friday in April and is included in your Waste Management bill. Winter storm damage limb pickup questions need to be checked at the City website or by calling City Hall.

Information regarding snow routes and right-of-way obstructions: The street department manager asks that you not shovel the end of your driveway until the plows have been down the street. This will save you the trouble of having to re-shovel. It is against City Code to shovel your snow into the street because it slows down clearing the streets. This City Code also applies to raking leaves or landscape debris into the street because when it rains this causes storm sewers to back up. Parking bans will be posted on all local television stations. All streets in West Peoria are snow routes. You are asked to get your car off the street if 2 or more inches of snow is predicted.
