Students choose a major that will be their focus for the first two hours every day for the full five weeks, then they will break for lunch provided by Neighborhood House. In the afternoon, campers will be exposed to all the other classes being offered and will get to choose a minor that can stay the same or change on a weekly basis depending on their interests. We want our campers to hone their skills in their chosen major, but also be exposed to other programs and discover their likes and dislikes. Students will showcase their skills at the end of the camp for friends, family and community members.

“Art is the carrot! When parents send their children to our camp, they are truly investing in their child — skill-building, confidence-building, creative thinking, arts education, character development and exploring new talents and interests to be used in all areas of their lives” states Nikki Romain. “And it’s our priority to ensure that campers go home with so much excitement for all they’ve accomplished and enjoyed that they can’t wait to come back the next day.”

The hours after-school and during the summer are crucial for youth. They can face hurdles that prevent them from reaching their full potential, ranging from hunger to safety. Through summer camps and after-school programs, ART Inc will help to fill in that gap by providing a safe space with purpose to learn, have fun, stay healthy and build friendships.

The camp will be held at The Romain Arts & Culture Community Center (formerly known as Greeley school). To register for camp you must complete the registration form which can be completed online at: www.artincpeoria.org. Please email or call with any questions or concerns: nikki@artincpeoria.org.
