Carnival in the Park on July 28th

Posted by Debbie Adlof on July 28th, 2008

CARNIVAL  IN  THE  PARK

Peoria Park District will host “Carnival in the Park,” a summer celebration on Monday, July 28th, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the Glen Oak Amphitheatre.  This carnival is put on by kids, for kids. Try your luck at several different games, and a variety of snacks will be available.

There will be many more activities going on throughout the evening that you won’t want to miss. New this year will be the roaming entertainers:  Unique Twist (clown who makes balloon animals) and Matt Zeko, a Juggler. There will also be a stage show and the entertainment lineup will be Flag Corps at 5:30 pm, Pirates Black Pearls cheerleaders at 6:00 pm, Great Expectations Show Chorus  at 6:30 pm and Park Players at 7:00 pm.

All booths and games will be run by Park District camp programs.  Proceeds of the carnival go to sponsor summer activities.  Afterwards, stay around for the Monday evening Family Flick – Open Season.  The movie starts at dusk.  For more information call at 688-3667.

We had a WONDERFUL time at the carnival in the park and the movie. We have been at the carnival probably 3 times and the Monday night movie many times over the last 8 years. It is actually pleasant and the kids LOVE the snacks. Thanks for keeping it at a great price and economical for all. We are normally worried when we go to the park because you never know who will be there and the influence on our children. However, at these events we have never had a problem.
