Letter from Mayor Jim Ardis
Posted by Debbie Adlof on July 28th, 2008
Dear Fellow Peorians:
As the City Council begins another year of budget planning, we want to start the process by reaching out to the citizens of Peoria for input on where you would like to see your tax dollars invested.
The City Council and I are inviting public input at the beginning of the budget process, not at the end, as we believe the budget should be built around the community’s needs and vision.
We have scheduled two open houses to allow you to share your ideas on the 2009 budget and hope you, your friends, and your neighbors will attend. Both opportunities are on Monday, August 4, 2008, and they are scheduled at two different times, listed below, to accommodate more citizens’ schedules. Please feel free to drop in during one or both of these time periods.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon:
Exposition Gardens1601, W. Northmoor Road, Peoria, IL 61614
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p. m.:
Peoria City/County Health Department, 2116 N. Sheridan Rd., Peoria, IL, 61604
The meetings will give you the opportunity to review the operating and capital budgets, ask City Council and staff questions, and give your input on priorities and suggestions.
