OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and Children’s Hospital of Illinois, in conjunction with Methodist Medical Center, Proctor Hospital, and Pekin Hospital, are lifting the restriction on the age of visitors to their facilities. The restrictions were put in place in October because of a marked increase in cases of H1N1 influenza.
During the Christmas and New Year’s holidays, from December 24, 2009 through January 4, 2010, visitors of all ages will be welcome.
The policy to allow all visitors will be re-evaluated January 4, 2010, based on the number of cases of H1N1 influenza being seen at that time.
It is strongly recommended that anyone showing flu-like symptoms please refrain from visiting patients in the hospital. Any inpatient at Saint Francis Medical Center or Children’s Hospital with suspected H1N1 flu will still not be allowed to have visitors younger than 12.
