State Rep. Jehan Gordon (D-Peoria) will be stopping by Childers Eatery, at 3310 N. University in Peoria, on Friday, January 29, 2010 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. to meet with local residents and to seek their input on the various challenges facing the state.
“It is important for me to remain accessible to my constituents, and these coffee shop stops give me the chance to hear what is on people’s minds,” Gordon said. “As a legislator, it is my responsibility to listen and act on what I’m being told in the district, and that is the best way I can represent our district in the General Assembly.”
Gordon has made accessibility a priority by hosting town hall meetings, establishing citizen advisory committees and setting up satellite office locations throughout her district.
