Enchanted atmosphere will focus on the magical world of fairies.
The Junior League of Peoria will host Frolic with the Fairies, a Garden Experience at Wildlife Prairie Park, March 6, 2010.
The one-day event is an opportunity for girls of all ages to explore a whimsical garden fairy world. The event will feature food fit for the fanciest of fairies, art & craft vendors, a story teller, style show and music by children’s artist, Julie Kay.
“We’ve been thrilled with the response our community has had to this unique event,” said Katie Madison, Event Chair. “Past teas at our Victorian Headquarters were sold out events, so we’re looking forward to a large venue that will accommodate additional families and vendors.”
In addition to traditional tea-time fare, the Garden will feature area vendors with all-things fairy. A style show will provide young participants the opportunity to model their extraordinary costumes. Live music by children’s artist Julie Kay is planned. Story telling by Tracey Brownell will culminate the day’s events. Blissful Images will be on hand to capture the experience, providing take-home photo remembrances. All tickets include entrance to Wildlife Prairie Park.
“We’re excited to again host an event for young girls and their families that will make memories for a lifetime. It’s fundraisers like this that bring us one step closer to a Children’s Museum for our community,” said Junior League President, Julie Balkema.
For reservations or more information about the event, contact the Junior League of Peoria at 309-685-9312. Tea times are at 9am, 12:30pm and 4pm. Tickets are $25. Net proceeds from the event will benefit the Junior League of Peoria and their primary community project, The Peoria PlayHouse, an interactive children’s museum proposed for Glen Oak Park’s Pavilion.
