Learn about all your favorite scaly creatures at the Peoria Zoo’s Remarkable Reptiles Day on Saturday, March 13 from 11 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Event highlights will include:
• 11:30 a.m. – Unveiling of the Zoo’s new Meerkat Exhibit.
It has been entirely renovated with an interactive termite mound that enables
zookeepers to put treats (like mealworms) in so the meerkats can dig them
out. This new exhibit was made possible in part by Alan and Ramona Moore, donated in memory of their son.
• 1:00 p.m. – Snake feeding
• 1:30 p.m. – Performance by violinists from the Heartland Festival Orchestra
• Animal encounters throughout the day
Regular Zoo admission will be charged for this event, with no additional fees for Remarkable Reptile Day features. For more information, contact Yvonne Strode, Zoo Director, at (309) 681-3509 or visit www.peoriazoo.org.
