Bradley University is accepting applications for its inaugural Accelerated Nursing class, a 15-month program designed to provide intensive nursing preparation for students who hold a bachelor’s degree in another discipline.
The first class in the program will begin in May and will complete the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in August 2011. The program is designed for those in other professional fields seeking a career in nursing.
“Due to the nationwide shortage of nurses, students graduating with a degree in nursing have vast career opportunities in their future,” said Dr. Francesca Armmer, chair of the Bradley Department of Nursing. “Students in this intensive program will be mentored by faculty and will have the advantages of the traditional classroom setting, clinical settings, and online opportunities.”
Candidates for the program should hold a bachelor’s degree in a discipline other than nursing and have completed 34 hours of prerequisite courses. For details see

Established in 1956, Bradley’s Department of Nursing offers both undergraduate and graduate programs of study and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
