The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) announced that the City of Peoria has received the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award.
The award reflects the commitment of the governing body and staff in meeting the highest principles of governmental budgeting. A requirement for receiving the award was that the city satisfy nationally recognized guidelines for effective budget presentations. The guidelines are designed to assess how well an entity’s budget serves as a policy document, a financial plan, an operations guide and a communications device.
The City of Peoria has received this award for 18 consecutive years.
