During National County Government Month this April, Peoria County is offering free public workshops through Illinois Central College’s Adult Community Programs. On Thursday, April 19, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., residents can attend “Preparing to Survive” at ICC’s North Campus on University Street. In this workshop, participants will learn live-saving information to help families survive and thrive when disaster strikes Central Illinois. Interested persons may register by calling 690-6900 or visiting www.icc.edu/acp and selecting “Know Your Community” in the workshop schedule.

Financial Assistance for Homebuyers
Thursday, April 26
6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Homebuyers will learn how they can get 3% cash back on their loan to fund closing and/or down payment costs, and up to $2000 annually in federal income tax credit. Peoria County government participates in Assist 2012, a Homebuyers Assistance Program that provides financial assistance to qualifying homebuyers.
