Back by popular demand, internationally loved gospel artists Reggie and Ladye Love Smith are returning to central Illinois for two very special concerts to be held on Mother’s Day.
The “Mother’s Day Celebration Lunch Concert” will be held at the Ashland House in Morton on the afternoon of Sunday, May 13. The duo will be joined by special guest Rachel West Kramer, who is also a renowned gospel singer with a huge fan base here in central Illinois and beyond.
That evening the Smiths will perform at the “RiverLife Gospel Music Dinner Cruise” on the Spirit of Peoria in Peoria.
Reggie and Ladye Love hail from Nashville and are musically versatile singers who are comfortable singing gospel, country, big band and contemporary worship music.
They have performed in 12 countries and throughout the United States including such famous venues as Carnegie Hall, the Kremlin in Moscow and The Grand Ole Opry. Gospel music fans will recognize Reggie and Ladye Love from their longtime association with the Gaither Homecoming, which has allowed them to work with some of the top names in gospel music. The Smiths last came to central Illinois in the spring of 2011 to perform in two Mother’s Day concerts that proved to be a popular way for many families to celebrate and honor their mothers.
The “Mother’s Day Celebration Lunch Concert” will be held at 1:00 p.m. at the Ashland House Ballroom located at 201 E. Ashland in Morton. Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 for adults and $25 for children 12 and under. There is a discount of $5 off per person for groups of 8 or more. The “RiverLife Gospel Music Dinner Cruise” will be held later that day on the Spirit of Peoria which docks at 100 NE Water in Peoria. Boarding begins at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner begins at 7:00 p.m. During dinner and the concert, the Spirit of Peoria will cruise up and down the scenic Illinois River.
