The festival will begin Saturday night July 14, at 6:30 p.m. with a karaoke and open mic nite in the Windmill Hall. The entrance fee will be $3.00. All are encouraged to come share their talents and enjoy the fun. The concession stand will serve hotdogs, chips, nachos, soda and water.
Sunday’s activities will begin with a Church Service at 9:30 in the newly redecorated Windmill Hall. This year the Golden Historical Society will sponsor the 25th annual Sweet Corn Dinner on Sunday, July 15, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the air conditioned Windmill Hall. In addition to pork chops and brats with sauerkraut, onions and peppers, this delicious meal features sweet corn, potatoes, salad and dessert bar, rolls, and beverage at the low cost of $10.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 5 to 10. Children under five are free
There will be a bounce house and carnival-type games from noon to 4:00 p.m. Also, at 1:00 p.m., the baby contest, Little Mr. and Miss contest and Junior Miss contest will be held in the hall. In addition to the dinner and activities, the gift shop, museum and windmill will be open during their usual hours of 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
