Looking to jazz up Father’s Day this year with a unique celebration with spice and soul?
First Federated Church of Peoria is hosting a Father’s Day Jazz Worship Service featuring Judy Page & Speakeasy – a local jazz group — beginning at 10:00 a.m. at 3601 N. Sheridan Road. The event is free and open to the public.
Judy Page has described music as a calling. Encouraged by her mother at three years old, Judy Page began to sing gospel songs. “People would come to the house,” she remembers, “and say, ‘Sing, Judy, for a dime or a nickel’. That’s a God -given talent. I had no training, no background. It’s just always been there.”
At the age of 17 she traveled with the Ike and Tina Turner Review. She also performed at the Budweiser Illinois Blues Festival and is known locally as a member of Kriss/Kross.
First Federated Church is here to help you on your journey of faith with open hearts and open minds. Our vision is to be a beacon of Christian faith and leadership for the Peoria Community. We are affiliated with the Federated Church (USA) and the United Church of Christ (UCC). This year, First Federated Church celebrates its 75th anniversary.
