At the Peoria Historical Society’s recent annual meeting, President Sid Ruckriegel presented the Historic Preservation Award to the Heart of Illinois United Way for its stewardship of its historic headquarters at 509 W. High Street and for helping transitional neighborhoods, sustainability efforts and for building partnerships in the community. United Way President Michael Stephan accepted the award.
Society trustee Laura Dodge Havran received the Volunteer of the Year award for her hours of diligent work in converting PHS membership records to new software as well as her involvement with PHS activities.
