A new fiber art exhibit, “Cooking With Crochet: Tasty Textile Treats” is on display at Peoria Public Library Main Library Gallery Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. through the month of July. This display by artist Amber Lowery of Amber’s Originals depicts everything from sushi to marshmallows in crochet.
The three dimensional art works took over three months to create and were done from patterns in books, online and designed by the artist. Over 650 pieces make up the colorful exhibit that was designed to highlight the 2012 Summer Reading Program.
The exhibit is free and open to the public during regular Main Library hours, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A free Gallery Walk and Talk will provide a guided tour of the exhibit on Wednesday, July 11at 2:00 p.m. Get a personalized tour of the exhibit as well as the Wheeler Case exhibit and end at the Friendly Finds Bookstore.
