The Peoria Park District and Methodist Encore are sponsoring a FREE Pickleball Clinic for 50+ Adults on Saturday, July 14, beginning at 8:30 a.m. This clinic, for beginners/novice level players, will be held at the pickleball courts in lower Glen Oak Park (Frye Street, across from Woodruff High School.)
Experienced pickleball coaches Deb Yandell, Fred Fry and Ned Middendorf will introduce participants to the fundamentals and incredible fun of pickleball. New players will learn the basic game rules plus how to serve, volley and keep score. Each learning session will last approximately one and a half to two hours.
Equipment—bring a pickleball paddle and several balls if you have them. Loaner equipment will also be available compliments of the Peoria Park District.
Attire—dress in comfortable clothing that allows ease of movement and please wear athletic shoes (no flip flops or leather-soled shoes).
This event is free, but you must pre-register by calling Gloria Phelps at 681-2859. Attendance will be limited to the first 20 registrants. Complimentary bottled water will be provided.
