August at Peoria Players Theater

Peoria Players Theatre presents the Summer Youth Theatre production of The Wedding Singer directed by Jimmy Ulrich! Based on the movie of the same name, The Wedding Singer features the pop songs of the 1980’s and takes us back to a time when hair was big, collars were up, and a wedding singer might just be the coolest guy in the room. Performances are at 7:30 pm on August 8, 9, 10 and 11, and at 2:00 on August 12. Tickets are $18 for adults, $12 for patrons 18 and under, and will be on sale July 16. Call 688-4473 or visit us online at peoriaplayers.org.

Also, this August, directors Dr. Mike Decker and Amy Williams will hold auditions for the drama, Twelve Angry Men.
They are needing 12 male actors between the ages of “young man who finds it difficult to speak up when his elders have the floor” to “gentle old man” and all ages in between. There is also the role of the guard, which will be played by a man in the same age group. Auditions will be held in the front lobby of Peoria Players Theatre on Friday, August 3 at 6:00 pm, and Saturday, August 4th at 10:00 am. Mike and Amy recommend that those auditioning become familiar with the play and the individual jurors prior to auditions. This is an all male cast. Scripts are available for perusal in the Peoria Players box office.

*Of special note, the box office will be closed the week of July 9-13, but will resume regular hours on July 16 of 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
