Methodist Health Services Corporation has a new Chief Operating Officer (COO). Stephen J. Brewer, MBA, FACHE, will assume the role of Methodist COO beginning in mid-August. Debbie Simon, President and CEO of Methodist, announced the appointment, citing Brewer’s strong experience and knowledge of the healthcare industry as well as the local market.
Brewer comes to Methodist from HeartCare Midwest, where he has served as Chief Operating Officer and more recently Chief Administrative Officer, since 2004. Prior to HeartCare Midwest, Brewer was COO for a large occupational and urgent care medical group in Rockford, Illinois bringing to Methodist vast knowledge and experience working closely with physicians. In addition, he brings to the job extensive experience in Human Resources. Brewer fills the position vacated by Debbie Simon when she was named President and CEO.
Stephen Brewer resides in Metamora with his wife and two children.
