Mortgage Awareness Week In Progress Providing Help for Families Facing Foreclosure

Peoria, IL — September 18, 2012 — METEC’s Mortgage Awareness Week is a one-stop shop where participants can get information about the home buying process or seek help if they are facing foreclosure. Events are underway.

This week’s Mortgage Awareness Week Events include:

Mortgage Loan Assistance — PNC Advisors will be available to assist customers — Tuesday September 18, 2012 — 10:00am – 7:00pm

Mortgage Loan Assistance — Meet with Bank of America Representatives — Thursday September 20, 2012 — 10:00am-7:00pm

First Time Home buyers Seminar — Saturday September 22, 2012 — 9:30am-2:30pm Walks you through the entire home buying process. Borrowers interested in purchasing a home and using down payment funds will able to obtain their certification at the event if they pre-register and bring in required documents.

Caravan Open House — Saturday September 22 — 3:00pm-4:30pm We will tour several homes that are for sale and learn what developers are building in the area. Space is limited on the tour bus.

Mortgage Awareness Week is made possible by Governor Pat Quinn’s Foreclosure Prevention Network program that was created to service Illinois residents and bring resources that guide borrowers with options of staying in their home.

METEC’s Mortgage Awareness Week offers two days of free mortgage loan assistance to help homeowners struggling to make their mortgage payment and take advantage of programs to avoid foreclosure and keep their home. Home Buying Seminar walks borrowers through the entire home buying process. Anyone interested in purchasing a home and using down payment funds will able to obtain their certification at the event if they pre-register.

PNC and Bank of America representatives will meet one on one with each borrower, discuss their situation individually, and any mortgage assistance solutions.

Free housing counseling and HUD-Certified Housing Counselors will review homeowners’ documents required to apply for loan modifications, and other default prevention programs. Several workshops will be conducted throughout the day explaining how the foreclosure process works in Illinois, mandated court mediation in Peoria County, and other available options that prevent foreclosures from occurring.

The Mortgage Loan Assistance, workshops, and home buying seminars will take place at METEC Housing Resource Center in Peoria, Illinois – 2605 W Krause Ave, Peoria, IL 61605.

For foreclosure help, participants should bring the following:

1.Two most recent pay check stubs
2.Most recent tax returns- 2011
3.Recent mortgage statement
4.Two recent bank statements
5.Most recent utility bill
