  • Illinois Central College Theatre presents Shakespeare’s comedy “Love’s Labor’s Lost” Feb. 11-15 at ICC’s Performing Arts Center.
  • Oscar Wilde’s “Importance of Being Earnest” will be staged at Corn Stock Theatre Feb. 13-15 and 20-22.

DANCE.

  • The Irish folk band Turas, with the Flynn School of Irish Dance, will perform Feb. 27 at the Contemporary Art Center.

Derel Monteith will showcase the early music of Horace Silver for the Central Illinois Jazz Society at Trailside Event Center on Feb. 15.

CLASSES & LECTURES

  • The Peoria Public Library is marking African-American History Month. The Lincoln branch will have a display of hats honoring pioneering hatmaker Mae Reeves all month, and the Lakeview branch will feature a “Black History Month Knowledge Quest” Feb. 1-28.
  • Art at the Bodega in Washington is hosting an “Aurora Wanderer” guided acrylic painting course Feb. 7.
  • The Peoria Art Guild offers a Metal Piercing Pendant course Feb. 19.
