  • The Peoria Historical Society will have bus tours of the Warehouse Renaissance at 10 a.m. Aug. 2, and the “World’s Most Beautiful Drive” at 10 a.m. Aug. 9; plus open houses at Flanagan House at 1 p.m. Aug. 3 and 17, and at Pettengill-Morron House Museum at 10 a.m. Aug. 7, 14, 21, 28 and 31.
  • The Wheels O’ Time Museum has Antique Tractor Weekend at 12 p.m. Aug. 2-3; blacksmithing demonstrations at 12 p.m. Aug. 9 and 23; and Children Story Time at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 21.
  • Whisper & Shout: Open Mic for Poetry at the Contemporary Art Center is 8 p.m. Aug. 7 and 21.

THEATRE

  • “A Few Good Men” presented by Corn Stock Theatre at Dunlap High School auditorium is on the playbill for Aug. 1-3, and 6-9.
  • “Frozen the Musical” is scheduled for Eastlight Theatre this Aug. 1-9.
  • “Beetlejuice, Jr.” presented by Peoria Players Theatre is set for Aug. 6-10.
  • Corn Stock’s production of the classic musical “Oklahoma!” will be presented at the theater company’s home venue Aug. 15-17, 20-24, and 27-31.

CLASSES & LECTURES

  • The Peoria Art Guild’s free kids art classes, “Art without Boundaries” will be offered at the Shoppes at Grand Prairie all month.
  • The Peoria Art Guild also is having an eight-week Pottery Series evening class Thursdays through Sept.11.

MUSIC

  • The River City Gospel Fest and Soul Fest will be Aug. 1 and 2, respectively, on the riverfront at the CEFCU Stage at the Landing. Other August shows at the Landing include moe (Aug. 7) and — their farewell concert — Jammsammich (Aug. 8).
  • Country Rock Classics: A Weekend Honoring CCR and the Eagles is at Five Points Washington on Aug. 1 featuring the tribute bands Life in The Fast Lane and Bad Moon Rising (in the group’s central Illinois debut).
  • Various acts are set for weekly concerts at Mackinaw Valley Vineyard Aug. 2, 9, 16 and 23, with area favorite Revel in Red scheduled for Aug. 30.
  • The Peoria Municipal Band Concert will play at Glen Oak Amphitheatre this Aug. 3 and 10.
  • Garage Band Open Stage hosts Kayla Brooke and the Colt Ball at Harmonize Peoria on Aug. 5.
  • The Grammy Award-winning Wallflowers, featuring singer-songwriter Jakob Dylan, is scheduled to perform on Aug. 6 at TempleLive.
  • Sweet Nothings will be “Live at the Five Spot” at the Contemporary Art Center on Aug. 8, with Raynah & the Holistics “Live at the Five Spot” Aug. 22.
  • Wildlife Prairie Park has its “Wild Nights/Wildfire Concerts” Aug. 8, 15 and 22.
  • Pour Bros.’ Courtyard Concerts continue Saturday nights, with the Brazilionaires and special guests Tambora on Aug. 16.
  • The Peoria Heights Community Band will play at Tower Park on Aug. 28.
  • This year’s Peoria Blues & Heritage Music Festival will feature Ruthie Foster, Government Mule, Buckwheat Zydeco Jr. and other acts performing on the riverfront Aug 29-30.
