- Prairie Wind Ensemble performs Dec. 14 at Five Points Washington.
- Joe Metzka is “Live at the Five Spot” Dec. 19 at the Contemporary Art Center.
- The Peoria Area Civic Chorale performs Dec. 19-21 at Five Points Washington.
- “Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols,” with choir and congregational singing, is Dec. 21, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Peoria.
- The Peoria Civic Center is welcoming back Mannheim Steamroller with a Christmas show Dec. 22, and the next night has a new talent, musician Lindsey Stirling whose artistry and energy on the electronic violin are showcased in her new album, “Snow Waltz.”
THEATRE
- Broadway in Peoria is presenting the “Book of Mormon” comedy this Dec. 2-3 in the Peoria Civic Center.
- Community Children’s Theatre presents “Mary Poppins: The Broadway Musical” Dec. 3-7 at Peoria Players Theatre.
- Eastlight Theatre presents “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” Dec. 5-14 at East Peoria Community High School.
- “The Nutcracker” will be performed by the Central Illinois Ballet on Dec. 5-7 at Illinois Central College’s Performing Arts Center, and also by the Peoria Ballet Company on Dec. 13-14 at the Peoria Civic Center.
COMEDY
- Jukebox Comedy Club’s notorious Open-Mic Nights (comedians above) are Wednesdays and Thursdays this month, Dec. 3-18.

- “New Year’s Eve Salsa” at the Contemporary Art Center is happening on Dec. 31.
