The Watch: AMT, Criminal Justice Authority stepping up for first responders

Under regular business, the Peoria  to continue ambulance transportation. Andrew Rand, Chief Executive Officer of AMT, announced AMT has added $50,000 annually for three years to underwrite the apprenticeship for fire department to become certified EMTs.

Council accepted a grant for $2,876,250 from Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority and will extend a previous memo of understanding between City of Peoria and Carle Human Service Center for Co-Responder Unit for one year in amount of $1,134,095.

Christina Gerlach Mooney, DirectoCity Council approved renewal of a five-year franchise agreement with Advanced Medical Transport (AMT)r of Trillium Place Crisis Services, gave overview of role to support victims of crime to heal. Licensed clinical social workers arrive on site to meet with victims and families. They have responded to 101 calls and connected 78 individuals for follow-up care, as well as provided 87 trainings.
