Love the Parade

The 2022 50th Fourth of July Parade was a huge success. Many volunteers participated and are greatly appreciated and thanked. Consider participating as a volunteer next year. The parade can be viewed on Facebook at Mix 106.9 where Randy Rundle, volunteer announcer, live-streamed the event. T-shirt sales went very well and will be available next year for those interested. The following participants were recognized with awards: Congratulations to all. Grand Marshall — Fire Chief Terry Schadt, Best of Show — El Zarape, Most Patriotic — Veteran’s Pub & Military Order of the Purple Heart, Best Service Organization — The Fuller Center and Best Juvenile — Coach Bre Cottage & Cheerleading Dance Company.

Many hours of preparation are done prior to the Fourth. Once again, West Peoria was outstanding for all to see.

Walkways

New sidewalks are being installed on Cortland and Laura Avenues. Work began in July. The City strives to ensure the community is continually improving infrastructure.
