Cub Scout Pack 11 will be touring West Peoria singing Christmas carols from 6-7 p.m. Dec. 12th-14th (weather permitting). Listen those evenings and enjoy this tradition.
Troop 11 has extra butter braids for sale. Call Mary Menke (309) 657-0309 or Robert De Sutter (309) 369-8078. The braids are truly delicious.
FAMILY FOOTSTEPS
The Peoria Annual 40 under 40 this year had a focus on lifelong West Peorian Nicholas Baker for his dedication and commitment to West Peoria. He is involved in the Residents Association and Plannning and Zoning Board of Appeals. Nick is an Eagle Scout as well as being a member of various organizations in the greater Peoria area. Nick is the son of Todd and Laurie Baker who have also been extensively involved with our community. Congrats to Nick (and his folks).
GET LIT
The fourth annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony was scheduled for Nov. 28 at West Peoria City Hall. The Residents’ Association and the City has dedicated this tree for an annual community event. There were refreshments, door prizes, crafts and Santa. (Were you there?)

Positions up for election are: mayor, clerk, treasurer, alderpersons 1, 2, 3, and 4. Election will enable you to help our city to grow, prosper and improve. Detailed information can be found on the webpage or the City website. Act now if interested.
SNOW AND STUFF
Check the City of West Peoria website if you have questions about winter weather. Streets are to be cleared when there is two or more inches of snow or other winter stuff on the streets so the city can clear them. Tickets will be issued to any vehicle causing difficulty clearing our streets. Lawnscape waste pickup ends the last Friday in December 2022. Remember to lock your vehicles to prevent break-ins. Swords Bridge construction is completed with the County in charge of the expense and replacement.\
Senator Koehler secured a grant for West Peoria that allowed more officers to be assigned to our area, thus improving safety.
City Hall will be closed for both Christmas and New Year’s Day. The staff extends best wishes, good health and safety to all. Best of everything to you and your families and friends. Have a good year.
