West Peoria News: Young minds center moving into Heddington Oaks

APRIL SILVER

The former Heddington Oaks property on Heading Ave. will soon be transformed into the Trillium Place Young Minds Center, a youth-based inpatient behavioral health facility.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held at the location on June 7, with Mayor Jim Dillon and Sen. Dave Koehler in attendance. The center is a partnership between Trillium Place, an affiliate of Carle Health, and The Young Minds Project.

The new facility will offer comprehensive mental health and substance use disorder services to children ages 4-17 years. Renovations to the property will transform the former nursing home into a state-of-the-art facility that is specifically designed to meet the needs of young people.

The opening of the facility is scheduled for early 2024. For more information, visit the websites youngmindsproject.org and trilliumplacehealth.org.
