Community Foundation of Central Illinois grants Freedom House $15K

The Peoria-based Community Foundation of Central Illinois has awarded $15,000 to Freedom House to help the charity’s Child and Teen Counseling program, according to Freedom House’s Community Relations Manager Trisha Schafer.

“We deeply appreciate the diligent nonprofit professionals dedicated to addressing our community’s specific needs,” said Community Foundation President Mark Roberts. “Our pride in supporting their excellent programs, which enhance central Illinois, is immeasurable. This support is made possible by generous donors who’ve established funds through CFCI. Grantmaking ensures a lasting legacy, honoring the commitment of funders to sustain the nonprofit community’s growth and stability.”

A non-profit 501c3 corporation serving residents of Bureau, Henry, Marshall, Putnam and Stark Counties, Freedom House since 1983 has provided a haven for victims of domestic and sexual violence through free emergency shelter, legal and medical advocacy, counseling and prevention education.
