Celebrate your creativity and the beauty of nature by entering the annual Nature Photography Contest at the Peoria Park District’s Forest Park Nature Center.

All photographs must have a nature theme. Categories include Wildlife, Backyard/Urban Wildlife, Nature Landscape/Scene, Close-up Flora, Digitally Altered, and Young Shutterbugs (age 12 and under). Prizes are awarded to first and second place winners in each category. Entries are due by Sunday, October 16, and judging will be on Friday,

October 21. Photos can be viewed at the Nature Center tober 21 through November 10. Over 300 photographs are submitted each year, which illustrates how much local talent and interest there is in both photography and nature.

Forest Park Nature Center is located at 5809 Forest Park Drive in Peoria Heights.  Regular hours are Monday through Saturday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and Sundays 1:00 – 5:00 p.m. The trails are open daily dawn to dusk.
