PEORIA PARK DISTRICT HOSTS ANNUAL DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Community Children’s Theatre of the Peoria Park District hosts the Annual Drama Festival on Saturday, May 5 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Corn Stock Theatre Tent in Bradley Park. Enjoy nine award-winning children’s plays, performed by Peoria students in our Theatre Education for Children Classes. Bring a picnic lunch or buy snacks and drinks at concessions. Admission is free.

ULTIMATE FRISBEE TOURNAMENT AT THE PEORIA PARK DISTRICT

Join in the Ultimate Frisbee Tournament on Sunday, May 6 starting at 9:00 a.m. at Detweiller Park. This fast-paced team sport is played with seven on the field, but you may have up to 14 players on your team. We will play a mixed format with five men and two women on the field at all times. Players must be in high school or older.

Registration packets are available now at the Glen Oak Park Pavilion or online at www.peoriaparks.org. Team fees for the High School Division are $40 for residents and $45 for non-residents. Team fees for the Adult Division are $60 for residents and $65 for non-residents.

May Fitness Classes at FRC

The Peoria Park District’s Franciscan Recreation Complex (FRC) is starting up their spring fitness class schedules.

Zumba for ages 14+ has multiple sessions beginning in May, on Thursday, May 3 at 5 p.m., Saturday, May 5 at 10 a.m., and Tuesday, May 29 at 5:30 p.m. Classes cost $32/residents and $54/non-residents.

Drop-in Yoga continues Mondays and Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Tuesdays and Fridays at 10 a.m. $4.50/drop-in

Gentle Yoga-Yoga Basics begins with a session focusing on knees on Sunday, May 6. On Sunday, May 20 the session will focus on flow, and on Sunday, May 27 the session is about hip openings. Each class is $8/resident, $10/non-resident, or attend all five for a special rate.
