In his “Straight Talk” column in the March issue of the Community Word, Roger Monroe chided a Peoria County Board member for a “blistering personal attack” on a fellow board member. He also accused the board member of “grandstanding.” Monroe then goes on to call the U.S. Speaker of the House of Representatives a “cheat,” and he refers to her as “Botox Pelosi.” I want to thank Mr. Monroe for sharing with us a proper example of a personal attack, and for sharing with us an example of grandstanding. I always come away much more of an informed citizen after reading Straight Talk.
