“Getting through the Holidays” November Counseling Center Program
The Counseling Center at Proctor Hospital is sponsoring a free program that will provide you the tools you need to enjoy the holidays.
“Getting through the Holidays” will be presented Tuesday, November 9 by Pamela Shuck-Hoehne, MA, NCC, LCPC, RDDP.of the Counseling Center, from 6:30–8:00 p.m., in Classroom Four of the Proctor Professional Building
Learn what seasonal triggers can lead to depression and anxiety. Holidays can be difficult with feelings of loneliness, real and imposed stress, and sometimes sorrow. Participants will learn coping skills and relaxation tips that may help you enjoy the holidays and provide you greater satisfaction throughout the season.

Mohammed Shrine to Provide Free Screenings for Children at Proctor Hospital
The Mohammed Shrine of Bartonville will host a free screening for children to age 18, on Wednesday, November 10 at the Proctor Medical Group office, Suite 204, on the campus of Proctor Hospital at 5409 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria. The Clinic will be held from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Children will be screened for burns and congenital orthopedic deformities and issues such as cleft lip and palate, spinal cord injuries, diseases of the bone, joints, and/or muscles.
Parents or legal guardians who are seeking assistance with such medical issues are urged to bring their children to this free screening. The screening is provided to determine appropriate candidates who may receive surgical and other medical services free of charge, provided by Mohammed Shrine through the Shriners Hospital for Children in Chicago or one of the Shrine’s 19 orthopedic and 4 burn institutes located throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico. Complete hospital care and transportation is provided and includes surgical services, casts, braces, prosthesis, and physical therapy as needed and other forms of care.
Since 1922 the Mohammed Shrine has assisted more than 865,000 patients.

Proctor Service Auxiliary to Host Jewelry Sale
The Service Auxiliary at Proctor Hospital is sponsoring a Masquerade jewelry and accessories sale, Thursday and Friday November 11 and 12, from 7:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. both days.
The Sale will be held in the Hospital Lobby at 5409 N. Knoxville Ave., Peoria.
All proceeds will benefit Proctor Hospital Service Auxiliary programs and services.
Seniors on the Go Educational Program/ November – It’s Free
Topics include family caregiver support and diabetes
The Hult Health Education Center and Proctor Hospital will present Seniors on the Go on Thursday, November 18 at the Hult Health Education Center.
The program is free and lunch is provided from 11:45 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Proctor Service Auxiliary Hosts SouthWest Kiwanis Cheese Sale
The Holidays are approaching. Treat your family and friends!
The Proctor Hospital services Auxiliary will host a SouthWest Kiwanis Cheese Sale on Thursday, November 18 and Friday, November 19
From 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. in the Hospital Lobby.
The Sale will feature one and two pound block colby, farmers, swiss, cheddar, sharp cheddar, and pepperjack cheeses. Variety cheese-packs and cheese spreads will be available as well as these tasty treats: cinnamon glazed pecans, chocolate covered pecans, chocolate covered nut clusters, and cheddar cheese curds.
Proceeds used to support Peoria area children, the Proctor Hospital Service Auxiliary and the Kiwanis Service Projects.
Proctor Hospital Sponsors Free Medicare Help Desk in November
Proctor Hospital, in association with BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois’ Services in the Neighborhood program, offers a free Medicare Help Desk the fourth Wednesday of every month, from 9:00-11:00 a.m., in the Lobby at Proctor Hospital.
The next scheduled Medicare Help desk will be Wednesday, November 24.
