One World Founder/CEO Bob Eid was the recipient of the 2012 West Bluff Council “Pillar of the West Bluff Award.”

Eid was nominated by West Bluff Council member and Bradley University Business Manager Emeritus Ken Goldin. Founded in 1993 by Eid and his brothers, One World has evolved from a one-room coffee shop in the former Kane Drugs into a full-service eatery and catering operation, in addition to being a West Bluff destination. In his nomination, Goldin cited Eid’s community activism in allowing community organizations to meet at One World and in holding events where 10% of proceeds went to local schools and the American Cancer Society. Eid uses One World to help promote various community events and artists, as well as provides a positive example by keeping his property in excellent condition. “We who are part of the West Bluff Council can be proud,” Goldin stated.

The Pillar Award is presented each year to recognize individuals for outstanding service to the West Bluff neighborhoods. “In the last two decades, One World has really become a vital part of our West Bluff Community, as well as a destination place for those who live in other parts of the city,” said West Bluff Council president Conrad Stinnett. “I think a lot of that has to do with Bob’s ongoing enthusiasm for our area. The members of the West Bluff Council and I are pleased to recognize him this year.”

The Pillar Award was presented at the June 28th meeting of the West Bluff Council at the Bradley University Student Center.
