The Memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is pleased to announce the availability Community Health Grants in the Komen Memorial 36 county service area for fiscal year 2013 for innovative projects.
Based on a community needs assessment, Komen Memorial has identified the three following funding priority areas:
1. To increase availability of screening and diagnostic mammography among women in the Komen Memorial Affiliate Service Area (KMASA), especially African American women and women living in rural areas.
2. To overcome barriers of access, cost, transportation, knowledge deficits and/or making breast health a priority to increase regular mammography in (low income) women 40 years and older in KMASA, and particularly among African American women and women living in rural areas.
3. To improve enrollment in clinical trials of women with breast cancer, especially minority women with breast cancer.
Applications are available to nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies and educational institutions in the Komen Memorial Affiliate Service Area: Bureau, Cass, Champaign, Christian, Coles, De Witt, Douglas, Fayette, Ford, Fulton, Grundy, Hancock, Iroquois, Knox, La Salle, Livingston, Logan, Macon, Macoupin, Marshall, Mason, McDonough, McLean, Menard, Montgomery, Morgan, Moultrie, Peoria, Piatt, Putnam, Sangamon, Shelby, Stark, Tazewell, Vermillion, and Woodford Counties.
The memorial Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure has made a transition from a paper to electronic granting process. The Grants Electronic Management System (GeMS) developed by Susan G. Komen for the Cure allows your organization to apply for grants, and submit reports and grant change requests.
Grant Applications will be available at: https://affiliategrants.komen.org after November 27, 2012.
Grant requests are due January 4, 2013 11:59 p.m.
There will be three RFA-Bidders/Networking Conferences at different sites. All current Komen Memorial Affiliate grantees as well as possible new grantees in the expanded service area are strongly encouraged to send a representative to one of these meetings as there are changes to submitting the RFA this years.
