Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth (D-Peoria) will be hosting her 2nd Annual Veterans’ Appreciation Breakfast on Saturday, December 8 from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall, located at 1505 East Lake Ave. in Peoria Heights. This is a FREE breakfast for veterans and their families. Several area media personalities, elected officials and community leaders will serve as waiters for veterans at the breakfast.
“As we go along in our daily lives it is easy to take for granted the amazing sacrifices that our service men and women and their families have made for us,” Gordon-Booth said. “Our veterans deserve our thanks everyday, not just on special holidays. This breakfast is just one small way for me to show my appreciation and gratitude for their service.”
Veterans and their family members will be able to come to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall for a free pancake breakfast that will include pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee. Gordon-Booth will be joined by local Peoria dignitaries to help serve veterans and current military.
“I am excited to host a free veterans’ breakfast for the second year,” Gordon-Booth said. “It was heart-warming to watch veterans from across the region visit and break bread each other. It is important for the men and women who served our country to know that they have the support of their community. I urge every person who knows a veteran to encourage them to attend.”
