West Peoria had a very successful Clean Up Day on a very nasty, wet last Saturday in April. Twenty-two volunteers received 170 loads of junk and 29 pallets of electronics recycling at a cost of approximately $1,350 to the township. Many tires were also collected. Clean Up Day is a good asset for our community, and if you are available to assist next year on the final Saturday in April for a few hours, let the township know. After all, you can only get so wet as many of us learned that day. Thanks to all who volunteered as well as to those who helped clean our community by discarding items. Sharon Kennedy served as coordinator of the event.
