The Fourth of July parade was very well attended in spite of some truly hot and uncomfortable temperatures. Good comments are heard for this annual event afterwards. Be proud to be part of West Peoria. Winners in this year’s parade are: Patricia Schadt, Grand Marshal; Best of Show, El Zarape Restaurant; Best Service Organization, Bike Peoria NFP; Most Patriotic, POW/MIA; Best Juvenile, Corn Stock Newsies; and an Honorable Mention, Cub Pack 233. Patricia Schadt was recognized for her continuing service to our community. She has lived in West Peoria for over 50 years during which time she has volunteered and served as the West Peoria Fire Department Auxiliary for over 20 years and has never missed a fire and is always there to support the department. She has steeped her family in her same values. Congratulations to Patricia Schadt.
