Keep lawns mowed and neat. Grass over 9 inches tall is in violation of City Code. Code enforcement will send letters to violators and fine homeowners in extreme cases. Keep streets free of grass clippings. Do not burn lawn waste. Waste Management picks up yard and landscape waste every Friday until year’s end.

The new West Peoria business, Touch of Grey, is offering live music on Thursday and Sunday evenings and are now staying open seven days a week. Touch of Grey is located next to the corner of Rohmann and Sterling avenues presenting the opportunity to walk there and enjoy live entertainment.
Dogs must be on leashes when walked and contained at all times. There seems to be many more people enjoying having dogs and walking them. Take the time to enjoy both your pet and community.

There have been many speeding tickets issued in West Peoria to cut-through traffic because of construction on Farmington Road. Capt. Chris Watkins, Peoria County Sheriff’s Department, spoke at the Neighborhood Watch May meeting. He spoke of legislative changes and how they are changing police policies pointing out that police are leaving forces because of these changes.
The next Neighborhood Watch meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 9 in City Hall.
