Judith W. Mann will discuss one of the most famous women painters of the modern era — Italian artist Artemisia Gentileschi — at the Peoria Riverfront Museum on March 10. The lecture by Mann, St. Louis Art Museum’s curator of European art to 1800, is sponsored by the Fine Arts Society of Peoria.

Robert Pattinson dons the cowl in the newest iteration of the Caped Crusader in “The Batman,” premiering March 4. His version promises to be a grittier re-telling of the early days of the Dark Knight, following the footsteps of actors Ben Affleck, Christian Bale, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Michael Keaton, Adam West, and serials’ Robert Lowery and Lewis Wilson, plus animated portrayals.

Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias will bring his comedy tour to the Peoria Civic Center Arena on March 5.
MUSIC
- The Marshall Tucker Band brings its 50th Anniversary tour to the Peoria Civic Center Theater on March 10, with special guest Dave Mason.
- The Illinois Central College Concert Choir presents “Broadway Revue” of hit musicals at the ICC Performing Arts Center on March 10.
- The Peoria Symphony Orchestra on March 12 presents “Herald of Spring” at Grace Presbyterian Church, where music by Haydn, Schubert and Vivaldi will be performed.
- “Iconic Jazz” at Five Points Washington on March 19 features jazz composer, arranger and bassist Chuck Israels and his trio, with the Heartland Festival Orchestra jazz ensemble.
TELEVISION
After three years, Donald Glover’s rap-industry comedy “Atlanta” is returning for a third season on March 24. The Emmy Award-winning series will resume with 10 new episodes.
THEATER
- The Ameren Illinois Broadway Series resumes this month with “Hairspray” March 8-9, and “Blue Man Group” March 28-29. Both shows are in the Peoria Civic Center Theater.
- Rebekah Dentino directs the drama “When We Were Young and Unafraid” at Corn Stock Theater March 18-20 and 25-27.
- The Neil Simon musical “Sweet Charity” will be presented by Peoria Players Theatre March 25-27 and March 30-April 3. Chip Joyce is directing.
STREAMING
Starting March 3 on Hulu, “The Dropout” series stars Amanda Seyfried as Elizabeth Holmes, the Theranos founder recently convicted of defrauding her investors. The cast also features William H. Macy, Laurie Metcalf, Stephen Fry and Michael Ironside.
