The Watch: Peoria County Election Commission sent out 20K ballots

The Peoria County Board of Election Commissioners met on March 11. There were 25 ballots which came in after election day, but with a correct postmark, so they were counted so the primary election could be certified March 12. Turnout for the primary was 18.78%, with 49% of those voting by mail.

It is anticipated voter turnout will increase with the use of permanent vote-by-mail.
Early voting for the general election was to start March 17, with 20,470 vote-by-mail ballots to be sent out March 17. There will be 265 different ballot styles in Peoria County for the April 1
election. Vote-by-mail voters can follow their ballots with Ballot Trax after signing up online.
