The Peoria County Board of Election Commissioners met on March 11. There were 25 ballots which came in after election day, but with a correct postmark, so they were counted so the primary election could be certified March 12. Turnout for the primary was 18.78%, with 49% of those voting by mail.
It is anticipated voter turnout will increase with the use of permanent vote-by-mail.
