Tri-County Regional Planning Commission (T-CRPC) met April 2.
It was announced the Safe Streets plan will be available by the end of June. Government entities can apply for grants at that time. Guardrail repairs will be completed. Bids came in higher than expected, but a second round of grants will be applied for in order to get more guardrails replaced. The City of Peoria has opted out of the grant process because that takes too long, and it is a safety issue.
TCRPC will begin to offer Community Development Block Grant writing and administration services to communities in the region.
After a short discussion, Martin|Hood was chosen again to be the organization’s auditor, although it was not the lowest bid. M|H was recommended by the executive director at $26,950 per year that can be renewed for a total of five years.
All proposed motions were passed unanimously, including the Long Range Transportation Plan, the Unified Planning Work Program-which serves as the budget, the $1.2 million Joint Funding Agreement, and the Transportation Improvement Program Amendments which include installing a traffic signal at Knoxville and Route 6.
