It seems the political right takes umbrage with the term “being woke” because it challenges people to take actions to right injustices.
Conservatives don’t like to be told they aren’t doing everything they can to help those being treated unfairly. So they chastise woke people and consider them the annoying minority.
A president cannot control as much as some think he can, like prices at the gas pump or grocery store. What a president can do, however, is instill in his constituents a sense of hope, a belief in our people and our ability to overcome problems to become strong again.
No book worthy of being published should be banned for any reason. Whether a child reads a book about being gay or has rough language or tells the truth about racism is up to the parents, not the government
What is even one saving grace of this guy? That he’s conveniently conservative? Doesn’t all the bad the man does (his lying, poor treatment of women, fraud, racism, support of fascist ideology) trump his claim he alone got Roe v. Wade overturned? None of this makes me feel our democracy would be safe in his hands; how about you?
